When you visit Capistrano Dental, you’ll see right away that we love kids!
We’re proud to have a pediatric dentist (“pedodontist”), on staff. Pediatric dentistry is a dental specialty focused on the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents, including those with special health and emotional needs.
Pediatric dentists receive two to three years of additional training (following four years of dental school) to prepare them to treat children and their unique dental problems. A pedodontist’s goal is to make a child's dental experiences enjoyable and to foster positive life-long dental habits and good oral hygiene.
With kids, it’s all about their comfort! Capistrano Dental offers toys for kids to enjoy in the waiting room, and DVDs playing on a flat screen monitor in each room for their entertainment. For positive reinforcement after each visit, we also have a Treasure Box for kids to pick a toy from.
When it comes to your child’s teeth, you want the best care available, and that’s why we’re here! Here are some answers to common questions about Pediatric Dentistry based on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
